# Game Substitutes

> Invite players to fill in for a single game or add permanent substitutes to your team roster.

## Overview

Fieldday supports two types of substitutes:

* **Game subs** — a one-off fill-in for a specific game
* **Roster subs** — a permanent team member who plays without paying the full registration fee

### Waiver handling

* If the sub hasn't signed your org's waiver, they're prompted to sign it inline before confirming — no separate step required.
* If they've already signed your waiver for this org, they go straight to confirm or decline.

### After the sub confirms

* The sub appears in the attendance panel with a **"Sub" badge**.
* They receive game-day SMS and email reminders for that specific game.
* Captains can remove the sub from the attendance panel at any time.
